💡 Lights Out at OKDEMS HQ ‼️
But we keep fighting for Oklahoma!

Maybe it's a little too on the nose. But I think the bad national vibes are manifesting right here at OKDEMS HQ.
On Monday morning we lost power to about half of the office. If you hadn't heard, we're currently in a building with a warehouse and some other offices. And even when all of the lights are on - it's a little bleak.
We do what we can to make the space welcoming for volunteers, and we fill it with as much Democratic fun as we can. But ultimately, it isn't at all accessible to the voters we need to win over AND we don't have a single window. Our Operations Director Molly may or may not have mentioned this to you once or twice...
So on Monday, all of the overhead lights and the air conditioning went out. Unaffected were all of our outlets. We had lamps, the internet and our phones still worked.
We kept working.
We continued to support campaigns and Democratic door-knockers across the State. We held a weekly Comms call for County Parties to stay on top of messaging during the Shutdown. Central Committee held a virtual meeting.
AND a lot of you helped us call Oklahoma's Republican Congresspeople to demand they seat the House of Representatives newest Democrat Congresswoman-Elect Adelita Grijalva!
Our Data Director Josh plugged in a bunch of historical figures from 2021 and 2023 and is working up a snazzy update on how much bigger of a year 2025 has been for Democratic engagement -- stay tuned!

Luckily the lights are back on at HQ! But our air conditioning is still out.
We've shown you that we won't slow down, no matter how extreme the Republicans and no matter what this building can throw our way.
I hope you'll join our fight for a fairer Oklahoma. Be sure to click the Take Action button below for upcoming events (especially those hosted outside the office)!
Or you can make a monthly contribution to our Window Fund and help us move to an office built for welcoming and strengthening Oklahoma's Democrats. [[link removed]]

P.S. As I write this, we still don't have working A/C. I'm as mad as any of you about 90 degree weather in October, but 80 degrees in the office?!
Give us a hand and chip in to the Window Fund please! [[link removed]]
