Earlier this year, Trump tried to strip birthright citizenship through an
executive order — a right guaranteed to every person born in the U.S.
under the 14th Amendment.
The Supreme Court didn’t stop him. Instead, they shielded his power,
refusing to rule on the core issue, while multiple federal appeals courts
blocked his order as unconstitutional.
Now, Trump is asking the conservative-majority Supreme Court to decide
once and for all the constitutionality of his order.
If they rule in his favor, it would dismantle protections enshrined in the
Constitution, overturn more than a century of legal precedent, and create
a class of stateless children stripped of their rights.
This isn’t just a policy fight — it’s a direct attack on immigrant
communities, and it sends the message that presidents can erase guaranteed
freedoms with the swipe of a pen, ripping apart the very fabric of our
democracy.
We can’t let Trump rewrite the Constitution to fit his far-right,
anti-immigrant agenda.
