John, millions of people right across our country, who have voted Conservative
all their lives, are rejecting the divisive politics of Badenoch and Farage.

The headlines from this week’s Conservative Party Conference may well be the
tipping point for many:

Like us, they are appalled at Kemi Badenoch’s decision to follow in the
footsteps of Nigel Farage and Vladimir Putin in wanting to leave the European
Convention on Human Rights - a proud British creation that is crucial to
protect our rights and freedoms.

They will not stand by and support the Conservatives’ catastrophic plans to
scrap the Climate Change Act - agreeing with us that investing in renewables is
the greatest economic growth opportunity in this century.

They see that the Conservatives are now only interested in following the likes
of Farage, Trump and Putin, not leading Britain.

And they are backing us instead because they know that we are the only party
providing effective and practical opposition to the Government and standing up
to Nigel Farage and Reform UK.

John, we have a real opportunity to consign the Conservative Party to the
history books once and for all.

At last year’s historic General Election we took swathes of seats from the
Conservatives, and this year, our record-breaking gains at the local elections
meant we overtook them to run more councils - winning more seats than both them
and Labour for the first time ever.

Every win grows voter confidence in our movement - yesterday a YouGov poll
had us drawing level with the Conservatives, and this week polling expert Sir
John Curtis said that we will ‘undoubtedly’ win more seats than them at the
next General Election.

John, it is time to finish the job.

But we cannot just rely on the Conservatives to continue to self-destruct.

Unlike them, we will never take voters for granted. That means continuing to
do what we do best - campaigning hard, listening to voters and delivering for
our communities.

We will stand strong where others back down. We will not pander to Reform. We
will fight to protect our environment, stand up for decency and the rule of
law, and stop Trump’s America from becoming Farage’s Britain.
