Dear John,
Next month governments will gather in the Amazon rainforest for the UN climate talks. Decisions on your, my and the planet’s future will be made.
The truth is stark. We’re hurtling into unliveable temperatures and ecosystem collapse. Floods, storms, droughts and wildfires are destroying lives and livelihoods. Millions are being pushed to the edge... or over it.
What we do now will be the difference between someone, somewhere, living or dying. That’s why it’s critical Friends of the Earth is at the talks.
We’re the eyes, ears and voice for the communities who get shut out of negotiations, for our ravaged planet and for you. But without your support we won’t have a voice.
Will you help us hold feet to the fire at the UN climate talks? Set up a monthly gift to power up our fight for a fairer and greener future.

You and I aren’t responsible for this crisis. The greed of global oil and gas giants and the super-rich is. And it’s the fault of the governments that delay, distract and divide us. With your support we can start to take the power back:
We’ll support to some of the poorest countries in the world with our policy expertise. We’ll be inside the talks, championing people and planet in the negotiations. We’re your voice in the room.
We’ll join thousands of civil society movements at the talks to demand better from world leaders this year – pushing for a global agreement on how we’re going to build a greener and fairer future. Something that was near impossible at recent talks in Egypt, Dubai and Azerbaijan.
We'll be taking to the streets in cities around the UK as part of a global day of action. To demand climate justice and build a powerful movement for generations to come.
And we know our presence matters. Backed by thousands of our supporters, we achieved landmark wins at previous talks. Like securing “loss and damage” funding for vulnerable countries to help them deal with the impacts of climate breakdown.
We’re not saying we’ll stop climate change at this year’s talks. But every life saved is important. So if you can please say yes to people power with a gift today.

Even before the climate talks start we’re campaigning for the UK government to put people, planet and justice at the heart of its own negotiations.
We’re holding it to its promise to protect forests – made at the 2021 talks in Glasgow. And we’re demanding it taxes polluting corporations and the super-rich to finance the future.
Will this be the government that rises to the challenge of working alongside other countries to safeguard our collective future, at this most pivotal moment? Or will it go down in the history books as yet another government without the gumption to lead us to a brighter future?
There’s no one else doing what we do. We influence policy and decision-making while building a grassroots movement that has an impact from local to national to global levels. You can trust us to make your voice heard in Brazil loud and clear – protect lives, save the planet, build a fairer future.
We think that’s worth fighting for. And we hope you think it’s worth supporting.
