TOA: the opportunity agenda logo<[link removed]>
Dear John,
We are writing to share an important update with you about TOA’s future. After months of discussions between the Board and leadership, we have made the difficult decision to wind down The Opportunity Agenda (TOA) by the end of 2025.
For 20 years, TOA has shaped the narrative landscape, helping countless organizations reach millions of Americans with research-backed campaigns that drove tangible change. Our tools, trainings, and cultural strategies have supported experts, advocates, creatives, and communicators in successfully telling powerful stories about the issues they work on and in pushing for solutions that unite their communities. These achievements will continue to ripple forward, creating opportunities for generations to come.
Your partnership, support, and engagement with TOA over the years has shown just how important community is in our movement. It reflects your shared belief in our vision of a society where opportunity exists for everyone. Your engagement with our work—no matter how small or large — has helped us amplify voices, change narratives, and create stories of equity and justice. We hope that our work has, in return, helped you move toward this shared vision.
As we navigate this transition, our priority is ensuring that our most critical resources and programs find new homes where they can continue serving the movement. We’ll be in touch closer to the end of the year with the details about where you can find our work after 2025.
With immense gratitude for your partnership and friendship,
Traci Lester and the TOA Board of Directors
