Facial recognition technology is fundamentally flawed, systemically
biased, and has no place in our society.
That’s why I — in partnership with Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Rashida Tlaib,
Yvette Clarke, and Senators Ed Markey and Jeff Merkley — introduced
legislation to stop government use of biometric technology, including
facial recognition tools.
Black and brown people are already over-surveilled and over-policed. It’s
critical that we prevent government agencies from using this faulty
technology to surveil communities of color even further.

use of biometric technology? Americans should not have to fear living in a
surveillance state.

Every person has the right to live free from unjust and discriminatory
surveillance by the government and law enforcement agencies — that’s why
this legislation is so important.

government use of facial recognition and biometric technology.
Thank you for taking action,
