A survivor of sex trafficking.

[[link removed]] Dear John,
I want to tell you about Ursel Hughes, a young victim of sex trafficking who
reached out to the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline. While 20 years old
and seven months pregnant with her pimp's baby, Ursel was beaten so severely by
her trafficker that she required medical care for broken teeth and a bruised and
bloodied face. She was too scared to ask for help at the hospital, but a nurse
gave her the number to the Trafficking Hotline. Eventually, Ursel called, and
with help from a Hotline Advocate, she developed a plan to leave her trafficking
situation. After her son was born, Ursel knew she had to leave her trafficker
for good and because of the Trafficking Hotline, she safely exited her
situation.

special matching opportunity thanks to an anonymous foundation, all donations made to Polaris by July 30th will be tripled up to $100,000.

Your first gift will help thousands of victims and survivors who reach out to
the Trafficking Hotline every year. Ursel is grateful that Polaris answered her call and she believes that without
help from the Trafficking Hotline, she and her son would not be alive today. Thank you for caring and for your generosity at a time of unprecedented global
need.
