John,
DoorDash is behind a new scam to strip minimum wage, overtime pay, and even the right to unionize away from us .
If they succeed, corporations won’t stop with DoorDash gig workers. Nurses, teachers, truck drivers, retail staff, and workers across industries could lose the protections that generations have fought to win.
Tell DoorDash’s CEO: stop attacking workers’ rights! [[link removed]]
This summer, lawmakers introduced the so-called “Modern Worker Empowerment Act” in Congress . The name is a lie. DoorDash is one of the biggest corporations lobbying for this bill. It’s designed to “empower” corporations like DoorDash by letting them reclassify workers as independent contractors — robbing us of our rights.
This is union-busting dressed up as reform. And it’s a direct attack on every worker who has ever fought for fair pay and a voice on the job.
But here’s the good news: workers are fighting back — and winning. In Massachusetts, rideshare drivers like me secured the right to unionize. In California, a new law is bringing gig workers closer than ever to building real power on the job. If corporations come for one of us, they’ll face us all. THAT’S worker solidarity.
Workers deserve protections, not corporate loopholes. Let’s shut this down. Add your name: Tell DoorDash’s CEO to stop attacking workers. [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
