Senator Leo Jaramillo, a proud son of the Española Valley, graduated from Española Valley High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from UNM and a master’s in Education from the College of Santa Fe. His career has spanned local television news, education, and his current role as Staff Operations Manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Since 2021, he has represented northern New Mexico in the State Senate, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Rules Committee and the Land Grant Interim Committee, and sits on the Senate Tax, Business, and Transportation Committee. Nationally, Senator Jaramillo is also Vice Chair of Media and Culture for the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. He is known for his passionate, ethical, and compassionate leadership, always working to uplift the people and heritage of northern New Mexico.

We will also be joined by special guests Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones and US Representative from Vermont Becca Balint! Justin Jones garnered national headlines when he was expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2023 for protesting the GOP priority of protecting guns over children after the Covenant School Shooting. Since then, he was appointed to and then successfully ran for the seat he was once expelled from. U.S. Representative Balint is the first woman and openly LGBTQ+ person to represent Vermont in Congress.
This event is our key annual event that helps New Mexico Democrats have the resources we need to continue electing leaders who will stand up for blue-collar communities and defend democracy. ⭐ Please support our Party at our signature event.⭐
