Senator Leo Jaramillo, a proud son of the Española Valley, graduated from Española Valley High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from UNM and a master’s in Education from the College of Santa Fe. His career has spanned local television news, education, and his current role as Staff Operations Manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Since 2021, he has represented northern New Mexico in the State Senate, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Rules Committee and the Land Grant Interim Committee, and sits on the Senate Tax, Business, and Transportation Committee. Nationally, Senator Jaramillo is also Vice Chair of Media and Culture for the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. He is known for his passionate, ethical, and compassionate leadership, always working to uplift the people and heritage of northern New Mexico.
