As Trump continues his federal takeover of the D.C. police, a federal judge has ruled [[link removed]] this week that Trump’s deployment of thousands of National Guard troops to Los Angeles was illegal. The ruling bars the Pentagon from using the National Guard and Marines to perform police functions, such as arrests and crowd control. Despite this, Trump has announced his plans [[link removed]] to order federal troops to mobilize in Chicago and Baltimore to “combat crime,” against opposition from state and local authorities.
This is just the latest example of how Donald Trump has violated the Constitution and committed multiple high crimes [[link removed]] . The appropriate response to his actions, outlined in the Constitution, is the impeachment and removal process, a responsibility of Congress.
