Here’s the long version: Election observers have us leading the field with over 60% of the vote. But this is far from over. More than 70,000 absentee ballots were requested across the district, and officials won’t begin counting them until July.

Just because we are up in the count right now doesn’t mean we are taking anything for granted. We are putting a team of experts in place to help us ensure that every single vote is counted fairly and equally.

We left it all on the field last week – and that hard work paid off. We are confident that once we have counted all the votes, they will deem us the winner.

But we won’t rest until we count every ballot and hear every voice. That means hiring a team of experts to observe the ballot counting process and to raise any concerns or questions to ensure the process is handled fairly and accurately.

So team, the long and short of it is that we really need to ramp up our fundraising as the absentee ballot count begins to ensure our team of elections experts is in place the second the absentee count begins.
