Politics in a Nutshell
US Rep. Zach Nunn kicks off ad campaign touting benefits of Republicans' big tax law [[link removed]]
Republican Representative Zach Nunn has used public money to create an ad lauding himself for voting for the Big, Ugly, Lousy Law. It is a real slap on the face to the families who rely on Medicaid and SNAP. Both of which Nunn voted to gut.
Rep. Miller-Meeks gets confronted at the state fair after gutting Medicaid to fund tax breaks for the rich [[link removed]]
Republican Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks was caught with egg on her face at the Iowa State Fair after ignoring a constituent who wanted to talk about her recent vote to cut Medicaid. The fact that Miller-Meeks said in an interview ( also at the fair [[link removed]] ) that she’s “done good things that I’m not shying away from,” only adds insult to injury.
Trump buys more than $100 million in bonds in office, disclosure shows [[link removed]] Trump’s fortune is massive. You think he’d use some of that wealth to pay for his golf trips, instead of taking millions from taxpayers [[link removed]] .

Does Rep. Miller-Meeks support Trump’s tariff war? Prices are rising by the day. How far do they have to go before she steps in and does something? Why is she standing idly by in Congress as Trump’s tariffs raise inflation, instead of fighting for her constituents who are hurt by them?
Representative Ashley Hinson (202) 225-2911

Representative Randy Feenstra (712) 224-4692

Note From the Chair
Hey folks! Rita Hart here.
Our Republican Representatives have gotten themselves into some hot water recently. Marianette Miller-Meeks stood up one of her constituents at the fair, refusing to talk about the vote she cast for Medicaid cuts. I’d feel more sympathy for her if not for the fact that she still has yet to host a single public town hall. Why act surprised when constituents come up to you at the fair with questions when you’ve given them no opportunity to do so elsewhere?
Zach Nunn’s situation might be even worse. He used congressional funds to create an ad highlighting the tax cuts in the Big, Ugly, Lousy Law; the one that will kick millions of people off of Medicaid and SNAP. It is a real slap in the face to Iowans who depend on the programs.
This behavior is exactly the reason why Iowa needs new leadership. We need leaders who will listen to constituents, who will respect their fellow Iowans, and who won’t kick people off their health insurance while using public dollars to create their own political ads.
Iowa needs a change in leadership. And every day we’ll continue to fight to get it. I appreciate your continued involvement and support of the Iowa Democratic Party.
Sincerely,
Rita Hart
