A message from Council Leader, Councillor Neghat Khan
Congratulations to all Nottingham students across the city on their GCSE results. For those students who didn’t get the results they hoped for, there are lots of opportunities and you should talk to your teachers about next steps and pathways.
On Sunday, The Lord Mayor and the Deputy Leader attended a civic ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ day honouring those who served and passed away fighting Japan in WW2. It was also great to see the Nottingham Carnival back - a showcase of the community spirit and togetherness of Nottingham. This was a wonderful multi-cultural event celebrating Nottingham’s Afro-Caribbean community, with vibrant costumes, music and entertainment.
This Sunday also marks Ukraine’s Independence Day. Nottingham continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine – today and every day.

Don’t lose your vote – residents in Nottingham City urged to check voter registration details
City residents are being urged to check their electoral registration details or risk losing their chance to vote on decisions that affect them.
