A message from Council Leader, Councillor Neghat Khan
Congratulations to all Nottingham students across the city on their GCSE results. For those students who didn’t get the results they hoped for, there are lots of opportunities and you should talk to your teachers about next steps and pathways.
On Sunday, The Lord Mayor and the Deputy Leader attended a civic ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ day honouring those who served and passed away fighting Japan in WW2. It was also great to see the Nottingham Carnival back - a showcase of the community spirit and togetherness of Nottingham. This was a wonderful multi-cultural event celebrating Nottingham’s Afro-Caribbean community, with vibrant costumes, music and entertainment.
This Sunday also marks Ukraine’s Independence Day. Nottingham continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine – today and every day.

Turning words into action – investing in your council services
Councillor Ethan Radford, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Finance and Resources, has outlined how by getting its house in order, the Council is able to commit an additional in-year spend of around £2m to provide better value for money in some of our core, universal services.
Congratulations to all students receiving their GCSE grades this week!
Whatever your grades, it is about celebrating your hard work, resilience, and achievements.
If things didn’t go as planned, remember there are lots of routes to success and support available to help you take the next step.
Want to find out what road improvements are happening near you?

City residents are being urged to check their electoral registration details or risk losing their chance to vote on decisions that affect them.
The annual canvass allows Nottingham City Council to keep the electoral register up to date, to identify who risks losing their voice at elections, and to encourage them to register before it’s too late.
