Friend, close your eyes and picture a typical
schoolyard. What do you see??
For too many children, it's cracked asphalt. No shade. No color.
No place to run or rest or imagine.
Students at schools such as Cesar E. Chavez Campus in Oakland,
California, and Bregy Elementary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
envisioned something better for their schoolyard. With crayons and big
ideas, they codesigned a new play space-one filled with shady
trees, painted murals, and places to learn, breathe, and belong.

What began as an asphalt lot is now a living space for the whole
neighborhood.
It's cooler, safer, and full of joy.
This is what our Community Schoolyards initiative makes possible.
It's not just beautification. It's access. It's an
investment. It's a child's first opportunity to shape the
world around them-and your chance to help make that
possible.?
Watch this short video to see how beauty, pride, and
community come to life.

Because when we transform a schoolyard, we do more than plant trees.
We plant hope.
