Donald Trump just told us exactly what he plans to do: suppress the vote
and control the outcome.

In a post today on Truth Social, Trump announced he intends to sign an
executive order that seeks to ban mail-in voting nationwide. He says
states should take orders from the President on how elections are run. And
he says Vladimir Putin – the authoritarian leader of Russia – told him
during their summit in Alaska last week that mail-in voting “rigged” the

This isn’t a campaign strategy. It’s an attack on democracy.

We’ve seen this before. Trump’s goal has never been to expand
participation – it’s to narrow the electorate until only his supporters
remain. His targets are always the same: Black voters, Brown voters, young
voters, and working-class Americans who dare to vote against him.

And while Trump is preparing this assault from the top, Texas Republicans
are leading the ground game. They’re moving to pass a new gerrymandered
congressional map this week that would eliminate five Democratic seats
ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Suppress the vote. Redraw the maps. Lock in minority rule.

Let’s not forget: these are the same Republicans who shouted about
“federal takeovers” of elections when Congress tried to pass the John
Lewis Voting Rights Act. Now they’re standing by silently as Trump demands
