John, have you ever wished you could set aside money for causes you care about the same way you save for vacation or retirement?
Well, good news: You can! It's called a donor-advised fund, or DAF.

A donor-advised fund is more than a financial tool—it's a powerful way to live your values. And it’s simpler than you might think.
A DAF is like your own charitable savings account created to support the causes you care about most. You can choose a sponsor (e.g., Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or a community foundation) and contribute cash, stocks, cryptocurrency or other appreciated assets to your donor-advised fund and receive an immediate tax deduction. Your contributions are invested and can grow tax-free, expanding your potential impact.
Then, when you're ready, you recommend grants to your favorite nonprofits—including the IRC—whenever you choose. When you do, you're taking intentional action to protect and empower people who have been forced from their homes by persecution, conflict, and crisis.

You might be asking: "Do I have the financial capacity to start something like this?" The good news is, many DAF providers have no minimum starting balance. You can build your fund over time, making contributions that fit your budget while still creating meaningful change.
The beauty of DAF giving lies in its ability to bridge spontaneous generosity with thoughtful, long-term support. When you direct DAF grants to the IRC, your charitable dollars deliver urgent relief to people whose lives have been uprooted by conflict and catastrophe.
