Email from Tarrant County Republican Party   Contribute Today to Prepare for 2026! Quorum Update 2 Special Session 2 has begun. Yesterday, the Democrats continued their quorum-breaking, but hinted at an imminent return to Austin. As announced earlier in the week, the Legislature adjourned sine die and immediately began a new special session, allowing them to reset the clock for another 30 days in a new session. It has been suggested that the Democrats intend to return by Monday, so that legislation can begin to move through the process. Once this happens, the Congressional redistricting bill will pass. Our hope is that they will claim even more Democrat seats as a punishment for quorum-breaking, and to further solidify Trump's agenda after the midterms. But more still can be done. We urge the Governor to add to the call a redistricting of the Texas House and Senate. While Governor Abbott and AG Paxton have filed lawsuits seeking to vacate the seats of the quorum-breakers, you have to fire on all cylinders if you want to win. By redistricting the state legislature, we can guarantee the removal of several of the offending representatives, and in the process, get the Republican Party closer to a 2/3 majority in the House, which would altogether deny Democrats the ability to break quorum in the future. Michael Quinn Sullivan of Texas Scorecard has reported that Democrat representatives are upset with Gene Wu, and that he would have few defenders, should a motion to expel him from the House be put forward. Should this be true, it would be another surefire way to remove more Democrats from office. Mexican Bribery and Texas Oil Once again, foreign ownership of Texas oil is in the news. Two Mexican nationals have been accused of large bribes to "Pemex" officials. Pemex is the state-owned Mexican oil company, which is responsible for roughly 1/3 of tax revenue to the Mexican government. The company owns a large refinery in Deer Park, Texas. Pemex is the most indebted oil company in the world, with an estimated $100 billion in liabilities. Just last year, they lost an estimated $1 billion to oil theft from Mexican cartels, who often bring the oil across the Texas border for sale. The entrenchment of Mexican oil in Texas should give pause to those who care about our state's greatest industry. In the last few years, the rise of this crime has heavily impacted Texas oil. Just this year a Texas oil trader was arrested for stealing $300 million of oil. According to the DoJ, the man in question, James Jensen, allegedly provided $47 million to a Mexican cartel. There are countless other instances of stolen oil from the Permian Basin. The Energy Security Council estimates that companies in Texas lose nearly a billion dollars in revenue per year to oil theft, largely to the benefit of the cartels. This alleged bribery case shows immigration enforcement matters now more than ever. Mexican cartels are stealing untold sums of money from Texans, just to fund cartel warfare and their human trafficking and drug trafficking efforts. Tarrant/JPS Budget Cuts Under the leadership of County Judge O'Hare, as well as Commissioners Krause and Ramirez, Tarrant County plans to once again cut county spending and lower the tax rate. While some cities are hiking taxes, O'Hare is continuing his stellar record of lowering our taxes. The changes will also standardize office budgets and staff pay for commissioners. As expected, Alisa Simmons is furious. She can only give government handouts to leftist activists for a little while longer! The county is also implementing new rules for non-profit funding that will ensure proper use of county funds. In the past, certain nonprofits regularly received funding from the county government. Now, they will have to reapply for funding. In addition, they will have to submit reimbursements and justify expenses to receive funding. This is a great move that will help safeguard your tax dollars. The County is also expected to force the JPS Hospital System to lower its tax rate. The Democrats are very upset about this, so you know it's good. Thank you to County Judge O'Hare and our Republican Commissioners for leading the way on fiscal responsibility and showing Tarrant County families that they can trust you with their tax dollars. This is the 3rd year that Tarrant County has come in below the No New Revenue rate - every year that O'Hare has been in office! Fort Worth Needs a 287g Agreement Last week, we told you that the Keller City Council had officially approved a 287g agreement to assist President Trump in his deportation efforts, and we called for all municipal governments to do the same. It was reported that, at the moment, the City of Fort Worth does not intend to take up any agreement of this kind. We are requesting your help to put pressure on them to do so. Fort Worth is the seat of our county and our most influential city. If we are to make Tarrant County safe again for all residents, we need Fort Worth to assist in removing illegal aliens. If you are in Fort Worth, please consider calling Mayor Mattie Parker and your city councilman and asking them to take up a 287g agreement to defend Fort Worth residents. Trump and Putin Meet to Talk Peace The highly anticipated Trump/Putin meeting in Alaska took place last night. This is the first time that a Russian President has ever stepped foot in Alaska. It marks a historic moment not only for this reason, but as the first step toward peace. President Trump has suggested there will be follow-up meetings between the two before a peace is fully established. We hope that this occurs quickly so that President Trump can continue his record of being the President of Peace. Share The Roundup with Friends!
