Port Maritime Center earns Tacoma’s first Salmon-Safe certification
A major Port of Tacoma construction project has earned the first certification in Tacoma from Salmon-Safe, a nonprofit that works to protect watershed health. Last year, tickets for our annual free Port boat tours were snapped up within hours. For 2025, we expanded capacity by securing a larger vessel and adding 100 more spots to each of our six sailings. This year, the tours proved just as popular with tickets, released Wednesday, gone in a record 90 minutes!
