Port Maritime Center earns Tacoma’s first Salmon-Safe certification
A major Port of Tacoma construction project has earned the first certification in Tacoma from Salmon-Safe, a nonprofit that works to protect watershed health. Salmon-Safe recognized the Port Maritime Center project for its commitment to managing stormwater and restoring the shoreline along the Foss and Wheeler-Osgood Waterways in ways that will benefit salmon. Record demand for free 2025 Port Boat Tours
Last year, tickets for our annual free Port boat tours were snapped up within hours. For 2025, we expanded capacity by securing a larger vessel and adding 100 more spots to each of our six sailings.
