President's Message I'm excited to share some new resources that can make our jobs a little easier—and our students' care even stronger. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and NASN have introduced a FERPA- and HIPAA-compliant information-sharing consent template, alongside an Implementation Toolkit. These tools simplify cross-sector communication by enabling one streamlined consent process for both schools and healthcare providers, bridging a crucial gap for students with chronic health needs. Care coordination is at the heart of our role as school nurses, a core principle of the School Nursing Practice Framework™. Positioned to lead collaborative efforts that improve medical, educational, behavioral, and social support planning, school nurses can utilize these tools to achieve better outcomes for students. I encourage you to check them out and think about how they could work in your setting. Together, we can keep improving the systems that help our students thrive.
