The Senate recently defeated two anti-Israel resolutions brought to the floor by Bernie Sanders to block arms sales to Israel.
These resolutions were rejected by votes of 70-27 and 73-24. Bernie Sanders’ repeated attempts to block arms sales to Israel highlights the growing battle that our community is facing — a concerted effort by Israel's detractors to undermine America's longstanding support for the Jewish state.
We saw this battle play out in the House, when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene offered an amendment to end U.S. funding for lifesaving missile defense programs like Iron Dome. Her legislation was defeated 422-6.
The defeat of these anti-Israel efforts demonstrates that bipartisan support for Israel remains strong. But it also highlights the growing attempts to advance anti-Israel policies in Congress.
