The Senate recently defeated two anti-Israel resolutions brought to the floor by Bernie Sanders to block arms sales to Israel.
These resolutions were rejected by votes of 70-27 and 73-24. Bernie Sanders’ repeated attempts to block arms sales to Israel highlights the growing battle that our community is facing — a concerted effort by Israel's detractors to undermine America's longstanding support for the Jewish state.
We saw this battle play out in the House, when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene offered an amendment to end U.S. funding for lifesaving missile defense programs like Iron Dome. Her legislation was defeated 422-6.
The defeat of these anti-Israel efforts demonstrates that bipartisan support for Israel remains strong. But it also highlights the growing attempts to advance anti-Israel policies in Congress.
Annual U.S. security aid to Israel is an important part of America’s national security strategy. In addition to ensuring Israel can defend itself, by itself, this aid helps keep Americans safer and more secure.
Cutting U.S. security assistance would be detrimental to Israel’s safety given the rising threats the Jewish state now faces, and weaken America too.
This is NOT the moment to undermine the alliance between America and our only stable democratic ally in the Middle East.
Now is the time to accelerate our advocacy, not retreat from it.
Our August deadline is just two weeks away and we are $8,235 short of our goal.
Your gift will help educate members of Congress, mobilize grassroots support for the U.S.-Israel partnership, and make the case for new initiatives that enhance the security of both countries.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
