Dear John,

At a recent Fraser Institute event, renowned author Dr. Bjorn Lomborg shared a startling projection: by the year 2100, developing countries will account for nearly 87% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

In contrast, the United States will contribute just over 5%, and all other developed nations – including Canada – will collectively account for less than 8%.

His message was clear: if we want to meaningfully address greenhouse gas emissions, we must focus on global solutions, not just domestic targets.

And that’s exactly what we’re doing at here at the Fraser Institute – one of our recent studies found that replacing coal in Asia with cleaner-burning Canadian liquified natural gas could lead to substantial global emissions reductions, far beyond what Canada can achieve through domestic policy alone.

We’re proud to have published Dr. Lomborg’s powerful essay series, Hot Air and Cold Truths: The Myths and Realities of Climate Change. These widely shared essays, which were also featured in the National Post, bring clarity and optimism to a debate often dominated by fear.

In an era of alarmism, Dr. Lomborg’s approach is refreshingly grounded in facts – and that’s exactly what we stand for.

For example: another one of our recent studies shows that Canada already ranks among the top 10 developed countries for air quality. Yet policymakers continue to impose new damaging regulations, ignoring our real progress!

Through our research, education programs, and national media outreach, the Fraser Institute is pushing back against the narrative of fear and misinformation.

We’re working to ensure that students, policymakers, and everyday Canadians have access to independent, evidence-based analysis – on energy, the environment, the economy, and more.

If you value this kind of work, please consider making a tax-deductible donation today [[link removed][campaignid]]. Your support ensures that facts – not ideology – shape the national conversation.
