Get Ready! ASBN’s Business, Policy and Purpose: The Business of Democracy ([link removed]) is Coming Up!
[link removed]
This isn't a conference. It's a call to action for business leaders who believe our economy must work for people, planet and purpose. This October, we'll gather virtually for three powerful days asking: what does it mean to be a business leader in a time of social, political, and environmental urgency and how do we take united action?
🎉Announcing EXTENDED Early Bird pricing now through Labor Day, September 1st!
Here's the smartest move: Instead of buying individual tickets, bring your whole team by becoming an ASBN member!
✅ General registration: $250 | Early Bird: $227 | Equity pricing: $193*
✅ ASBN membership: Starting at just $250 for sole proprietors and emerging businesses
Do the math: For the same cost as one general ticket, many businesses can get a full year of membership PLUS your entire office attends for free. That's access to ASBN exclusive policy briefings, networking opportunities, advocacy training, resource library access, and unlimited team conference registrations.
This is a once-a-year moment for collective business power, where the little guys sit next to the big guys to shape policy. The only place where sustainable business meets real political and economic leverage.

------------------------------------------------------------
Last month, ASBN warned of the significant challenges that businesses would face across the country should the 2025 Reconciliation Bill pass the House, and unfortunately, as we are all aware, it did. Nevertheless, the crucial work of sharing the business voice for a responsible and just economy continues.
ASBN state affiliate member New Jersey Sustainable Business Network penned a compelling opinion piece arguing that the H.R. 1 budget reconciliation bill threatens America's energy independence and economic progress. NJSBN highlighted that eliminating $336 billion in clean energy tax credits would devastate jobs. The piece also argues that increased oil reliance weakens national security, contrasting how foreign adversaries can disrupt oil supplies but cannot prevent domestic solar and wind generation. Read the full opinion piece here ([link removed]) to see how our New Jersey affiliate is making the business case for smart energy policy.

Protect Clean Water—and the Local Authority to Safeguard It
[link removed]
The EPA is considering changes to Section 401 of the Clean Water Act that would weaken the authority of states and Tribes to protect rivers, lakes, wetlands, and drinking water sources from harmful projects. These proposed rollbacks threaten not only environmental health but also the long-term resilience of businesses that rely on clean, dependable water.
Clean water, and the local authority to protect it, is good for business. ASBN has written a collective comment and created an individual comment template urging the EPA to uphold strong, science-based protections. We need your voice to ensure clean water remains a shared priority.
Here’s how you can take action before TOMORROW’S August 8 deadline:
* ✅ Sign onto our coalition comment ([link removed]) to show the strength of the business voice for clean water.
* ✍️ Submit your own individual comment ([link removed]) to emphasize why this matters to you and your business.
