** ThreeSixty Journalism Camp
------------------------------------------------------------
For four of the last six summers, Unicorn Riot has volunteered in the ThreeSixty ([link removed]) Journalism TV Broadcast Camp held at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The multimedia storytelling institute trains and mentors the next generation of journalists and media makers, and Unicorn Riot has been honored to participate in helping train young people with a passion for media. Read on for a update on the program and to see the story these talented students produced, and why Unicorn Riot loves engaging in work like this.
Chenue Her and student Alaia Scroggins going over lines for newscast
This year, the students that we worked with produced a story about addiction, finding community, and recovery — focusing on non-profit Minnesota Recovery Connection.
The bright group of students that made up our team were Alaia Scroggins (video editor), Smit Bhardwaj (producer), and Muhammed Memon (writer). They were assisted by Chenue Her (TV anchor at FOX 9), Bill Wareham (retired MPR), Marielle Mohs (WCCO), Yasmin Yassin (visual artist), and Niko Georgiades (Unicorn Riot). See the video ([link removed]) below for the final project.

Healing Happens in Community (Multimedia Storytelling Institute 2025, ThreeSixty Journalism)
As a nonprofit media collective with a passion for telling important stories that often go overlooked, we love helping students develop the skill sets needed to report on critical issues. To us, it’s vital that the next generation of storytellers learn not only how to produce media, but report on important issues through a lens of justice, equity, and compassion. Unicorn Riot has long been focused on education, and we always enjoy working with young people who are excited about journalism.
