Friend, I am being targeted by far-right politicians in Washington.

This week, a group of Republican senators introduced a bill named after me – the LETITIA Act.

This bill uses the same kind of language Trump uses. And it's just the latest in a string of political attacks meant to punish me for holding Trump accountable.

Make no mistake: These attacks are not just personal. They are dangerous.

They are meant to send a message – that any public official who challenges the powerful will be smeared, discredited, and threatened. 

I want to make one thing absolutely clear: These efforts to attack and distract me from my work will not succeed. I will continue to hold the far-right, including Donald Trump, accountable for their cruel and unconstitutional attempts to upend our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy. And if that means facing political retaliation, so be it.

But if I'm going to continue to hold the Trump administration accountable and fight to defend the vulnerable and voiceless in New York and beyond, I need fearless fighters like you with me.
