   Hi John,
In June, the Brazilian government auctioned off parts of the Amazon
   rainforest to fossil fuel companies.^1
Despite Indigenous Peoples and local activists calling for the government
to drop the project, they are pushing it through without respect for local
   residents.
Yet, this dirty deal is not getting nearly enough international media
   coverage.
It's not too late to stop the project — we can make it so controversial in
the media that fossil fuel companies are forced to back off. [ [link removed] ]Will you

The Amazon rainforest is crucial to our fight against the climate crisis —
it absorbs more carbon than it produces, supports rich biodiversity, and
is home to many Indigenous Peoples.
We are already seeing record-breaking climate disasters happening in the
U.S. and around the world. Allowing fossil fuel companies to further
destroy the Amazon will only make the situation worse.
John, this is our last shot. We've already sent thousands of
messages to Brazil's President Lula and Brazilian ministers. Now, we need
to escalate — and show the world what’s happening before it’s too late.
