** City News
------------------------------------------------------------
Janis Mensah seen in front of St. Louis City hall, after being acquitted at trial following two years of the City seeking charges against Mensah.
It's been two years since Janis Mensah, the former Vice Chair of the city's Detention Oversight Board, was accused of trespassing and resisting arrest ([link removed]) from entering the jail to look into the death of Terrance Smith. Two officers brutally forced Janis down from not leaving the detention center when it closed.
Arch City Defenders took on Janis' case and stated the City criminalized their client when Janis was doing their job to oversee the operations of the city jail from a transparent and accountable lens. Still no action has happened from the City to prevent people from suffering and dying in jail.
