Janis Mensah seen in front of St. Louis City hall, after being acquitted at trial following two years of the City seeking charges against Mensah.
It's been two years since Janis Mensah, the former Vice Chair of the city's Detention Oversight Board, was accused of trespassing and resisting arrest from entering the jail to look into the death of Terrance Smith. Two officers brutally forced Janis down from not leaving the detention center when it closed.
Arch City Defenders took on Janis' case and stated the City criminalized their client when Janis was doing their job to oversee the operations of the city jail from a transparent and accountable lens. Still no action has happened from the City to prevent people from suffering and dying in jail.

The Union Members have stated that they will strike for a fair contract starting at midnight on Monday, August 4th. This strike will be up to 3,200 union members who are pushing back against corporate greed and standing their ground on having a contract that defines the skills they bring in and the futures they can create for themselves and their families.
