It’s back-to-school season, and an estimated 54.1 million K-12 students and 5.7 million teachers are set to return to the classroom this fall.
Teachers make up the majority of the nearly 10 million people working in the nation’s elementary and secondary schools. This number also includes principals, school bus monitors, teaching assistants, and janitors.

TIGER/Line Geodatabases for 2025
The Census Bureau recently released 2025 TIGER/Line Geodatabases [ [link removed] ], spatial extracts from the Census Bureau’s Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing System for use with geographic information systems software. The 2025 vintage includes the metro and micro areas, combined statistical areas, and metropolitan divisions.

Census Bureau: Small Area Health Insurance Estimates [ [link removed] ]
New Small Area Health Insurance Estimates show the rate of individuals in the U.S. under the age of 65 without health insurance decreased in 194 counties and increased in 85 counties between 2022 and 2023.
