Happy Colorado Day! Today, Colorado, the centennial state, celebrates our 149th birthday. On Colorado Day, communities across the state gather to celebrate our great state. In 2026, the United States of America will celebrate our 250th anniversary and Colorado will celebrate our 150th anniversary.

explore the fun, free and discounted events in our communities and Celebrate everything Colorado. I celebrated Colorado Day 2025 with visits to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Denver Zoo, and the Adams County Fair.
Looking Ahead to Colorado’s 150th Birthday
As we look forward to Colorado’s sesquicentennial in 2026, the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission is leading Colorado’s commemoration of 150 years of statehood and 250 years of American independence in 2026. The Colorado General Assembly and I established the Commission to bring together leaders from across the state to guide this historic milestone.
