John,

Last night, a new record high of 27 Democratic Senators voted in support
of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ bill to block more U.S. weapons sales to Israel.

For the first time, a majority of the Democratic caucus listened to the
American people and voted to stop using our tax dollars to sell more arms
to a country carrying out a horrific genocide. As Bernie said, the tide is
turning.

Senate Democratic caucus has voted to block weapons sales to Israel. Such
an idea was nearly unimaginable before. The politics of Israel-Palestine
are changing in the US.

This vote comes after a new Gallup poll was just released, revealing that
a majority of voters — including 83 percent of Democrats — oppose Israel’s
military action in Gaza. U.S. public opposition to this genocide is at an
all-time high.

Gaza. 60% disapprove, 32% approve.

Still, multiple AIPAC-backed Democratic Senators were holdouts, even after
making public statements finally acknowledging Israel’s starvation of the
Palestinian population.

If Democrats in Congress say they condemn these crimes against humanity,
but then vote against legislation to hold Israel accountable and stop
enabling genocide, they need to be challenged at the ballot box in 2026.

Here at Justice Democrats, we’re actively pushing the Democratic Party to
actually be a reflection of its voters’ interests and values and reject
AIPAC by:

* Gearing up to defend our progressive incumbents, such as Reps. Summer
Lee and Ilhan Omar, from AIPAC-fueled primary challenges;
* Recruiting and supporting new working-class candidates like Donavan
McKinney to take on and replace corporate, out-of-touch incumbents
backed by AIPAC like Rep. Shri Thanedar.

But we depend directly on grassroots support from people like you to make
this change happen.

leaders to Congress next year?

If we come together today to build our bloc in Congress, we CAN stop our
government from aiding and abetting Israel’s genocide against
Palestinians, and move closer to achieving peace and justice for all.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
