** What’s new at PAWS
------------------------------------------------------------
July 1 was a big day for big dogs at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC). PAWS Chicago set out to provide spay/neuter for 100 animals in one day. Instead, we provided spay/neuter for 128.
“It was amazing to be able to get so many more dogs fixed. Now they’ll have an even better chance to be adopted or pulled by a rescue,” said Dr. Alycia Eisenstein, PAWS Chief Medical Officer.

** PAWS in the news: Texas Disaster Relief
------------------------------------------------------------
When devastating floods swept through Texas over the July 4th holiday, the lives of countless families were upended—and when families suffer, so do pets. That’s where we come in—to provide a lifeline when communities are struggling in the aftermath of natural disasters.
Thanks to our community’s compassion, 31 vulnerable dogs are now safe at PAWS Chicago. These pets were already in shelters before the flood hit —by rescuing them, we make room for Texas shelters to save animals who were lost or separated from their families.
For the past 20 years, PAWS has been dedicated to natural disaster rescue relief—from our first rescue missions for Hurricane Katrina to today. Our Chicago community always answers the call when there is an emergency. Your compassion and commitment make this work possible. Thank you for being there when pets need you most.
