New bipartisan bills would strengthen U.S.-Israel health cooperation to combat the coronavirus and improve American healthcare.

H.R. 6829 )—authored by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Chris Coons (D-DE) in the Senate and Reps. Chris Pappas (D-NH), Lance Gooden (R-TX), Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and David Kustoff (R-TN) in the House—would:

Create a U.S.-Israel grant program to promote key innovative solutions to COVID-19 and other health problems.

Authorize $12 million over three years—to be matched by Israel, with potential private sector funding as well—to fund the grant program.
