John,
Yesterday, I joined Congressmen Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar,
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, and State Representatives Gina Hinojosa
and James Talarico in Austin to fight the Republican redistricting power
grab.
I’ll share a full recap in the next few days, but I wanted to send a short
note as soon as I could.

Republicans are attempting to rig the system in their favor by redrawing
Texas’ congressional districts—years before the next census—in the hopes
of flipping five Democratic-held seats from blue to red.
If we fail to defeat them in this, if we are unable to hold these seats
and win a majority in the House, the consolidation of authoritarian power
will be nearly unstoppable. More Americans whisked off the streets by
masked, plainclothes agents without warrants or badges; more of Trump’s
political opponents targeted for persecution and violence; and more likely
that a corrupt, complicit congress rolls out the royal carpet for Trump’s
third term.
We’re not going to let this happen. We’re showing up, organizing, and
fighting this head-on—and we need your help to make sure we succeed.

helps us stay on the road, host town halls, and connect with Texans to
push back on the GOP’s power grabs.
