Meet Leyla, SAS Member, business owner and water lover. An all-round Ocean Activist!

Leyla kindly shared with us recently why she became an SAS Member, [[link removed]] and why her connection to the ocean inspires her fight to protect it.

"I have always loved being in or near the ocean. For me it's about being close to nature, the humbling effect that it has and the pure escapism I feel when I'm in the water. When I'm surfing, I don't think about anything other than the present moment. It's also just the best feeling when you catch that wave.

My love for the ocean started as a young child during summers spent in Cornwall. I have so many lovely memories from our summers there. I remember looking out to the sea from an old tin mine chimney, where I used to take my books and just feel the magic of it all."
