First, it was Wisconsin. Then, it was Georgia. And yesterday, it was Kentucky.
John: Voters in states across the country are encountering obstacles when casting their ballots in primary elections, and these issues are disproportionately impacting Black communities.
You've taken action to protect the voting rights of all Americans -- thank you. John, we need to elect leaders who will be allies in our fight in Congress. If you can, chip in before the FEC deadline to support Democrats in 2020.
In Wisconsin and Georgia, voters waited in lines for hours at a time and encountered complications with voting machines and ballots. And in Kentucky, the number of polling places was cut from 3,700 to only 200. The state's largest county -- home to hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians and the largest Black population in the state -- had only one polling place.
John: These are tell-tale signs of voter suppression.
And President Trump is adding fuel to the fire by spreading blatant misinformation about voting by mail. It makes you wonder: Why is Trump scared of more Americans having an easier and safer method to vote?
No elected official should discourage more people from being able to vote because voting is the heart and soul of our democracy.
We need to elect Democrats who will fight back against voter suppression to protect our democracy and our right as Americans to vote. If you can, chip in before the FEC deadline.
Thank you,
TC
