Friend, our national parks and monuments tell the
story of who we are-past and present. These spaces reflect the
struggles and triumphs that define our nation.

That's why we work to protect and honor the sacred landscapes
and historic landmarks that shaped our history, culture, and
communities, such as Stonewall National Monument; Martin Luther King,
Jr. National Historical Park; and Bears Ears National Monument.

But now, that progress is under threat. We're seeing a concerted
effort to erase important stories from our parks, public lands, and
historic sites.

Under a new federal order, signs and QR codes are being placed in
national parks, monuments, and historic sites across the country,
encouraging visitors to report "negative" historical
content about past or living Americans.

We know that acknowledging complex chapters in our
history-including slavery, Indigenous sovereignty, and civil and
immigrant rights-is how we continue the march toward a more
perfect union.

Join us in ensuring we don't erase decades of progress to tell a
more complete American story in our national parks.

When you see a QR code at your national parks: Scan the code and tell
leaders why your park-and these stories-matter.

Whether you share why your favorite park is meaningful or why
inclusive storytelling matters for all visitors, you'll help
send a clear message that our parks must reflect our full history and
include all our stories.

For parks and for people,

PS: This order could force parks to ignore their own founding missions
and drain already limited resources. Stand up for public lands that
tell the full American story by submitting your comment today.
