'Because I'm a Londoner' campaign 

A new citywide campaign ( [link removed] ) was launched last week to build consumer confidence and encourage a responsible recovery in consumer spending.

The campaign is led by an Alliance of more than 100 major London businesses and brought together by London & Partners and supported by the Mayor of London, London Councils and Transport for London.

Cllr Clare Coghill, London Councils Executive Member for Business, Europe and Good Growth said: “Many businesses have been dealt a huge blow as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As we begin to emerge from lockdown, Londoners have a real opportunity to make a difference by supporting and celebrating hard-working local traders.”  

Accelerating London's green recovery 

London Councils is delighted to be hosting a panel discussion on how London’s boroughs are working with partners across the capital to accelerate the green recovery.

The discussion will take place online on Thursday 2 July, 4-5pm, with Cllr Claire Holland, Chair of London Councils’ Transport and Environment Committee opening the discussion.

Covid-19 financial impact APPG

The All Party Parliamentary group (APPG) for London is meeting today to discuss Covid-19's impact on London boroughs' finances.

London has been hit hard by the the coronavirus pandemic, and this virtual meeting will will include the latest information on boroughs' financial pressures and key aspects of London local government's response to Covid-19, including business support measures and emergency accommodation for rough sleepers.
