Reform’s secret weapon is as lethal as a Nerf gun
Sarah Pochin, Reform’s new MP for Runcorn and Helsby, has been called “Nigel Farage’s secret weapon” by The Times. Our impression? Pochin is about as lethal as a Nerf gun. “I was brought up not to rely on the state,” she proudly told her interviewer, moments after explaining her dad was in the Army (a state job), her mum worked for the Post Office (a state job) and she went to a private school (at the time granted exemptions, by the state, from VAT).
What really revealed Pochin’s grasp of detail came in the ludicrous claim that Wales is considering a ban on dogs. “In Wales now, in certain areas, they are looking at a policy where you can’t walk your dogs even on a lead because it is intimidating to some people who don’t come from rural communities.” She said this was “another example of attacking the British culture”
This certainly sounds bad, only it wasn’t true. “There are no plans to ban dogs from the countryside and any suggestion otherwise is inaccurate and a complete misrepresentation,” says an unequivocal statement from the Welsh government. Pochin misread an anti-racism report last year quoting a African female who said she feels scared of being attacked by dogs in parks. This was just one person.
And anyway: is a fear of being attacked by dogs such a terrible thing? Last year, Wales, along with the rest of the UK, banned XL Bully dogs because they kept trying to bite people. This report was published in November 2024 — the month before, a 12-year-old Welsh girl was attacked by an XL Bully and left with life-changing injuries.
Sarah Pochin, like her colleagues in Reform, want to make you believe that leftwing politicians pander to culturally-incompatible foreigners. It’s just another fantasy.
👖🔥 Andrea Jenkyns isn’t the only Reform politician with their head in the clouds.
Reform’s mayor for Greater Lincolnshire says when she was a Tory MP, her question about crime statistics and nationalities was booed in parliament by the Labour, Lib Dem, and SNP opposition. “And I think what that demonstrates is that Westminster is so out of touch with working men and women on the streets of Britain,” Jenkyns told GB News. But that’s not true. We found the moment ([link removed]) from 14 May 2024. She stood up to speak in the Commons, said her piece, and sat back down again without a sound from the opposition benches. This isn’t even the first time she has made this false claim! Six months ago, she told Jeremy Kyle ([link removed]) that she was booed by Labour MPs. What planet is she on?
🤦One brain cell in, one out
The UK and France have agreed to a “one in, one out” migrant deal that will deport failed asylum seekers to France. “I don’t believe it’ll work,” Nigel Farage has said in response. Zia Yusuf, Reform’s head of DOGE, similarly posted: “One in, one out? No. None in, all out.” Funnily enough, a Westminster political party had “one in, one out immigration” as a slogan until last year. One of its prominent MPs called for the very same policy as recently as March. His name? Reform’s deputy chairman, Richard Tice!

đź’¸Money talks
Reform is led by Nigel Farage (millionaire city trader), Richard Tice (millionaire property investor) and Zia Yusuf (millionaire investment banker). In Reform-controlled County Durham, the party is launching a consultation that will likely end in the slashing of the council tax reduction scheme, which offers discounts on council tax bills. County Durham has one of the highest council tax burdens in the country, and also some of the highest levels of poverty. Meanwhile, Farage has suggested a non-dom scheme to benefit the super rich. It has been called “a license to dodge taxes”. Reform, in its manifesto, promises to end rule by “an out-of-touch, London centric elite”. When can they begin?
