Trust me, I know it can be frustrating when elected officials reach out all the time asking for donations. It’s an unfortunate consequence of all the court decisions that allowed unlimited sums of dark money to flood our elections.
But I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
Look, I’m the only Democrat representing Kansas in Congress, and we know for a fact that National Republicans are desperate to kick me out. That’s why Mike Johnson even personally wired money to my opponent last year.
If we want to elect a Democratic majority, we have to defend this seat. And hitting each and every one of our fundraising goals is the best way to put this campaign on the path to victory.
