Letter from the Mayor

Dear Washingtonians,

This weekend, the Department of Parks and Recreation is bringing the fun for kids, families, and teens. Tonight, at the Riggs-LaSalle Community Center in Ward 4, DPR is hosting their very popular Late Night Hype [ [link removed] ]. Late Night Hype is a collaboration between DPR and MPD, and features games, music, food, and more – all free.

Late Night Hype

Then, on Saturday, DPR is bringing the poolside version of Late Night Hype – Late Night Drip [ [link removed] ] – to Ridge Road Pool in Ward 7. Now on Saturdays, Late Night Drip features music, kayaking, and more.

Late Night Drip [ [link removed] ]

In addition to Late Night Hype and Late Night Drip, Movies Under the Stars [ [link removed] ] nights are back and will run throughout July and August across DC. And Play in the Park [ [link removed] ] – which is every Tuesday evening at Bruce Monroe Park and every Thursday evening at Oxon Run Park – also kicked off this week and will run through August 7.

As a reminder, the expanded youth curfew went into effect this week and will remain in effect through August 31. Citywide curfew for all youth ages 17 and under begins at 11:00 p.m. every night; in designated zones [ [link removed] ], curfew begins at 8:00 p.m. You can find more information about the curfew HERE [ [link removed] ].

Let's work together to keep our kids engaged and to have a safe, fun weekend in the best city in the world.

Sincerely,

Muriel BowserMayor Bowser celebrates the DC Defender's championship win with players, fans, and DC youth
