Dear Washingtonians,
This weekend, the Department of Parks and Recreation is bringing the fun for kids, families, and teens. Tonight, at the Riggs-LaSalle Community Center in Ward 4, DPR is hosting their very popular Late Night Hype. Late Night Hype is a collaboration between DPR and MPD, and features games, music, food, and more – all free.
Then, on Saturday, DPR is bringing the poolside version of Late Night Hype – Late Night Drip – to Ridge Road Pool in Ward 7. Now on Saturdays, Late Night Drip features music, kayaking, and more.
In addition to Late Night Hype and Late Night Drip, Movies Under the Stars nights are back and will run throughout July and August across DC. And Play in the Park – which is every Tuesday evening at Bruce Monroe Park and every Thursday evening at Oxon Run Park – also kicked off this week and will run through August 7.
As a reminder, the expanded youth curfew went into effect this week and will remain in effect through August 31. Citywide curfew for all youth ages 17 and under begins at 11:00 p.m. every night; in designated zones, curfew begins at 8:00 p.m. You can find more information about the curfew HERE.
Let's work together to keep our kids engaged and to have a safe, fun weekend in the best city in the world.
Sincerely,
Find photos from this week on Facebook.
Join the Department of Parks and Recreation for Jazz in the Park, a summer concert series happening every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August at parks around the District. Next week, there will be concerts at the Shepherd Park Community Center, the North Michigan Park Recreation Center, and the Takoma Community Center.
