It’s a mistake to take our eyes off California just because it isn’t a
swing state, especially in 2026. Here are three quick reasons why:

 1. California has the most swing House seats of any state. If we want to
retake the House in 2026, we need to defend vulnerable incumbents here
and challenge the Republicans who rubber stamp Trump’s agenda.
 2. Down ballot offices are competitive—and that’s where some of the
fiercest debates are happening. School boards and city councils are
front and center in addressing questions about what books belong in
libraries and which kids can play sports.
 3. Our next governor will have a big platform to push back against Trump.
We need to make sure we elect someone with the backbone to take on
tough fights.

Katie is the only candidate in this race to win a House seat in a purple
area, so she knows what it takes to help down ballot candidates clinch
victory. And, she has a track record of taking on the Trump Administration
to deliver for all of us, securing a commitment from his CDC Director in
the early days of the pandemic to make COVID testing free for everyone.
