It’s a mistake to take our eyes off California just because it isn’t a swing state, especially in 2026. Here are three quick reasons why:
- California has the most swing House seats of any state. If we want to retake the House in 2026, we need to defend vulnerable incumbents here and challenge the Republicans who rubber stamp Trump’s agenda.
- Down ballot offices are competitive—and that’s where some of the fiercest debates are happening. School boards and city councils are front and center in addressing questions about what books belong in libraries and which kids can play sports.
- Our next governor will have a big platform to push back against Trump. We need to make sure we elect someone with the backbone to take on tough fights.
