Ashley Hinson (IA-02) on their list of 35 GOP targets for the cycle. As of Monday, they have no one to run against her. Democrat Kevin Techau cited "poor fundraising" in a statement suspending his campaign juts two months after it launched. Fundraising For GOP Women Last Monday, the leadership of Winning For Women Action Fund was thrilled to host our annual kickoff reception to benefit WFW AF-backed incumbents in the House and Senate. Nearly $600,000 in hard dollars will go directly to these women's campaigns. As WFW AF Executive Director Meredith Allen told The Washington Reporter: “WFW AF is leading the charge to grow the ranks of qualified, exceptional, Republican women in Congress — and our success is proof that this effort has serious support and is a winning strategy. Bringing together top leaders from both chambers and broader party coalitions shows the strength of our network and our mission.” Senator Lara Trump? All eyes are on former RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump following Sen. Thom Tillis' (R-NC) announcement that he won't be seeking re-election next year. The battle for North Carolina's Senate seat is expected to be one of the most expensive and competitive races of the cycle as Democrats look to regain control of a seat they lost back in 2014. Should Lara Trump run and be elected, she would be the second Republican woman (after Elizabeth Dole) and third woman in the state's history to serve in the U.S. Senate. President Trump told reporters yesterday that she would be a "great" choice, and we agree. We will be watching closely as the race develops. Spotlight On: Rep.
