What do you know about the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)? It's okay if your answer is "Not too much," because you're in good company.
The PPP is a $650 billion taxpayer-funded COVID-19 relief program to help hurting businesses stay afloat and support their workers.
The reason why we don't know too much about it? Trump officials are dodging questions about which companies are receiving these funds, and if they're truly using this aid to help workers.
But Katie has been on it.
Tweet: For Congresspeople NOW tweeting shock & outrage over lack of #PPP transparency, I encourage you to ask your comms folks if they blew me off recently. I've been calling lawmakers for 5 weeks about this. The ONLY person who cared, called it out & demanded more was @RepKatiePorter
This week, she was on MSNBC calling again for answers. The PPP is a lifeline for small businesses and workers facing unemployment. But if someone doesn't hold this administration accountable, these tax dollars could be used to line the pockets of wealthy executives instead.
So make no mistake: Katie won't quit until the public receives full transparency.
Trump and his special interest allies are trying to unseat her this year because they know she won't back down. As she keeps up the fight, will you donate right now to power our re-election campaign and keep Katie in Congress?
