Governor Hochul is aiming to make life better for every New Yorker. She’s working to do that by lowering costs and boosting public safety, by supporting small businesses, and fighting for justice and equality.

Born and raised in a blue-collar Irish family in Buffalo, she learned the value of hard work early. She watched her mother raise six kids while her father balanced long days in a steel plant with night classes to provide for their family.

Those lessons inspired Kathy to serve — from student organizer at Syracuse to attorney and aide to Senator Moynihan, then public servant on the Hamburg Town Board, as Erie County Clerk, and, in 2011, a proud Democrat elected to Congress.

Now, she’s keeping up the fight and delivering real results, as New York’s first woman Governor.
